Practical Training in Tactical & Disaster Medicine

Practical Training in Tactical & Disaster Medicine

When situations become complex and time is a critical factor, two things matter most: solid training and reliable equipment.

That was exactly the focus of this training weekend in tactical disaster medicine. Personnel from fire services, emergency medical services, and aid organizations trained under realistic conditions across a range of scenarios designed to strengthen procedures, coordination, and medical response under pressure.

The focus was not on theory, but on applied training, clear decision-making, and one essential question: what actually works under real operational conditions.

The weekend was supported by experienced instructors, subject-matter specialists, and strong partners. The humanitarian aid organization FRIDA was also involved, contributing its perspective and field experience from humanitarian operations.
Another key focus was on solutions for prehospital emergency care under demanding conditions. Among the systems presented were modern tourniquets and other medical solutions designed for robust, practical use in the field.

The event once again demonstrated how important close cooperation between training, operational practice, aid organizations, and specialized manufacturers really is. Only through this kind of exchange can structures, concepts, and equipment be developed that make a real difference when it matters most.
